Inveruglas View Point

City life can be so frantic at times it is refreshing to take a step back and breath. People have different means by which they relax from the day to day stress of everyday life, some do so by exercising others enjoy socialising I personally find that leaving the city and experiencing what Scotland has to offer is the most refreshing way to clear your head and relax. It is easy to forget that right on our door step we can have the most beautiful views and calm retreats, which are perfect to free you mind when life’s pressures become slightly overwhelming. I find it refreshing to drive to beautiful locations where you can park up and discover the area by foot. The voyage among the scenery tends to take you on a voyage thought your  own thoughts and feelings and allows you st establish a leave of self peace. I often find myself walking for miles to uncover what the landscape has to offer, it is important for me to stop and consume my surroundings this allows me to gain clarity in my mind whilst letting go of the stresses that are clouding thoughts.

The above photo was taken from Inveruglas viewpoint in Arrochar, Scotland. A timber structure has been built which gives beautiful views of Loch Lomand. On approach you are welcomed by the wooden structure which blends in with the surrounding scenery,  there is a small tunnel which you are invited to walk through where at the other end you are welcomed with stunning views of Loch Lomand. You can take a walk up a set of stairs and take a seat to indulge in the views. This particular spot welcomes a calming atmosphere, you can feel any worries and stress gradually retrete. For me this creates clarity in my clouded mind. located behind the viewpoint is Loch Sloy hydo electic power station. despite it being such a significant structure the power station does not pollute the landscape , it merges in with the landscape as well as adding culture and history to the area. There is also a small quaint cafe at this spot (Cafelochan), which is perfect for consuming refreshments to complement your refreshed mind set. Also prior to a day out walking and indulging in the fresh air you appropriate a bite to eat and a nice hot drink.

I enjoy the experience of driving to the view point, is it ruffly a half hour drive form my home. I pass various other known spots on my way such as duck bay, the gateway to the loch and some niche roadside stops. On occasions I enjoy experiencing these ventures on my own, usually when there is a lot going on in my head and other times my friends will come for the trip and i can share my experience and method of escape with them.giphy
